The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Tuesday, December 9 reveals Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will plan a special evening for Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman).
Also coming up, in a standalone episode, Michael and Lauren will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. Viewers can expect many poignant moments and flashbacks galore, highlighting the couple’s romantic, and sometimes turbulent, relationship.
Y&R spoilers tease Lauren will walk into the GCAC to find Michael standing in front of a jack black table. He’ll turn over three cards that say Happy 20th Anniversary.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Lauren And Michael Hug It Out With Phyllis
Then viewers will see Michael’s marriage proposal to Lauren, back in 2005, in the GCAC private room, which he had turned into a casino. When she said yes, streamers poured down on them and all the slot machines went off.
The couple will discuss some of their most romantic moments, including when they were cheated out of a honeymoon. So, Michael brought a honeymoon to Lauren. “We are still as hot and heavy as we’ve ever been,” he’ll tell her.
They’ll show a flashback to when Lauren was pregnant with their son Fenmore. “You were the best dad ever,” she’ll say. Michael will admit that, aside from their wedding day, his happiest day ever was when their son was born. As they start dancing, reveling in their memories, Michael won’t be thrilled when Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) comes down the stairs and interrupts.
“Hey guys, what is this, casino night?” she’ll ask them. Then she’ll realize it’s their anniversary and they’ll tell her it’s 20 years. “You are perpetually the uninvited guest!” Michael will shout at her. Lauren will tell him to calm down and say she wants peace between the three of them for her anniversary. Cue the flashbacks with Phyllis.
Lauren will tell Phyllis that Michael recreated his proposal to her. “You’re a good guy,” Phyllis will say to Michael. “Congratulations to both of you, 20 years, I am in awe of your relationship.” And they’ll all hug it out.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Michael Thought That Lauren Had Died
Phyllis will head out and Michael and Lauren will discuss the challenges they faced, including when he thought she’d died. Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Tom Fisher (Roscoe Born) blew up their boat when they were on honeymoon. But it turned out Lauren was still alive.
Of course, there was also Lauren’s affair with Carmine Basco (Marco Dapper) in 2013, which resulted because of their son’s issues. The indiscretion almost broke them up for good. “Thank God you forgave me,” a tearful Lauren will tell her husband.
But they faced one of their biggest challenges when Michael developed cancer. Michael was afraid it would cause ‘performance’ issues for him. So, he stubbornly wanted Lauren to move on with her life without him and she refused.
Finally, Michael’s anniversary gift to Lauren will be a trip to Las Vegas. And he’ll say Scott and Fenmore will be joining them. “What an amazing gift,” Lauren will say. Michael will tell his wife he can’t imagine his life without her and they’ll kiss.
